The Activity of God in Our Lives

I was at a conference this weekend and one of the speakers asked if there was any “activity of God in our lives”. That phrase really stuck with me all day and into the night. Is there any activity of God in my life? Hum!

So, what could “activity of God be?”

Would it be cursing? Nay Would it be off color jokes? Certainly not! Would it be cheating or stealing? Not God. Could the activity of God in my life be showing out or showing off? Nonsense! Would it be the use of hateful words, unconcern, or even over spending? God’s not in that. Would breaking promises or being unfaithful be of God? Definitely not. What about falling to things that control us? No, if something other than God controls us, it’s not His activity.

This thought took me to considering who God is and therein I found activities that should be in my life.

God is love. He suffers long, is kind and does not envy. God does not behave unseemly and is not easily provoked. He does not think evil thus does not do evil. God gives those who live in Him “fruits’ and they are as follows:
“But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness and self-control.” Galatians 5:22

As we live in Him, he fills us with His behaviors thus giving us “God’s activity in our lives.”

Charity suffereth long, [and] is kind; charity envieth not; charity vaunteth not itself, is not puffed up,
Doth not behave itself unseemly, seeketh not her own, is not easily provoked, thinketh no evil;
Rejoiceth not in iniquity, but rejoiceth in the truth;
Beareth all things, believeth all things, hopeth all things, endureth all things.
Charity never faileth: but whether [there be] prophecies, they shall fail; whether [there be] tongues, they shall cease; whether [there be] knowledge, it shall vanish away.
For we know in part, and we prophesy in part.
But when that which is perfect is come, then that which is in part shall be done away.
When I was a child, I spake as a child, I understood as a child, I thought as a child: but when I became a man, I put away childish things.
For now we see through a glass, darkly; but then face to face: now I know in part; but then shall I know even as also I am known.
And now abideth faith, hope, charity, these three; but the greatest of these [is] charity.

But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, longsuffering, gentleness, goodness, faith, Gal 5:22

*If you do not have the “activity of God” in your day to day actions, ask Jesus to come into your life. The Bible says to “draw nigh to God and He will draw nigh to you”. Call on the name of Jesus to save your soul and next Sunday find a Bible believing church to visit. I attend a Baptist Church and love the fellowship there. Going to church does NOT save you, it simply provides you with a place that you can go to learn about God and His Word, the Bible. See what you can do to find a church where you might be happy and learn to know God. Message me on FB if I can pray for you. I will.
