Chicken Nipples: The Very Best Solution For The Dirty Water

As most of you know my mother, aka, Josie is a bird lover. She is not the only one in love. The love is mutual for sure. She’s always had a fondness for animals but birds especially care for her; stretching their wings as she blows them kisses and talks to them sweet (“awe, pretty bird”.) When I was about 13 years old, I remeber having two beautiful white geese. They looked so lovely but ow-wee where they mean. These lovely birds would lower there necks and hiss like you would never believe. Kristie, my sister, and I truly disliked them and would tell mom how mean they were but you would know when she came out they stood tall and stretched there wings. I find comedy in this now but back then it was very disturbing.

Needless to say, years later here Jose is again with birds that love her. This time the birds consist of 45 hens and 1 outlandish roo, Buster. I know you have read her blogs, which tell so much about her love for theses wild, stinky, squawking animals. What she hasn’t told you is all the work that goes into it. Having a bundle of hens and one rooster is hard work. You not only have to feed them but tend to them in so many ways. The upkeep is real, and in fact so much so that keeping up with the chicken has become a family affair.

There is so much to share but I figured I would start with the latest and greatest thing going on with the Chickwives(Hens) of Duval County. The talk of the HDC is Chicken Nipples! These metal wrapped in plastic watering devices are genius. The chickens now have fresh water at their disposal without wasting water. They are super easy to install too.

Here is the installation instructions for the chicken nipples.
