Money Saving Tips After The Holidays

I really enjoy Christmas. Not only it is Jesus’ Birthday, and a time to reflect on God’s love for us, but it’s a time for family and friends to come together.  It’s time to spend that money and I am a master at looking for the deals. How about you?  Too, I am so jolly this time of year as I approach it all.   The smells, colors, crowds,  and music of the year is so fanciful. And as the song says, “It’s the most wonderful time of the year”.  And after the season, it’s THE time of the year to get deals!

DanielBoy has come to except the non-stop Christmas music and every day decorating. This year I’m in the superduper Christmas spirit because we have a new member of the family to share it with and with him being 14 months, it’s all that much more special. The music is happier, the lights brighter and the gifts more meaningful.

It is so exciting to see our  precious son, Ramey smile when he notices something new.  The bright lights flicker in his eyes and the glow of the Christmas decorations reflect in his face. It makes me want to go out and buy all the more.

Money Saving Tips After The Holidays

While I’m a saver, I also find myself buying things I don’t need especially if they go on sale.  I determined this year  to better restrain myself from doing so and that way I don’t find myself  breaking the bank! I mean I want to have money for my sweetheart and family. Right?  It is so hard though.

Last year I did a little due diligence – serious shopping on the day after Christmas. I really shopped the sales racks. Now, After decorating this year with those items, I’m looking forward to the day after Christmas sales again. And this year,  to buy not only decorations but gifts… What fun it is going to be!  Prepping  for the up and coming year is going to be fun but I think I’ll have a storage challenge! Uh! Oh!

The day after Christmas Target, Walmart, Walgreens, CVS, Kmart and other stores will offer  mark-down items and they will go quickly. If you  have your eye on any items in those store, prepare to wake up early and hit that department running for 30% to 50%  to 70% off.

Remember to bring your coupons for those items that just have the holiday packaging (such as dish soap, kleenex, candy, plates, napkins) and so on. These are so much fun to shop for after the holidays. Not only do you get the after Christmas discount but you stack a coupon on top of it and it’s a winner!

So what are you waiting for… get those magazines out and start tagging pages. Lets make sure to get all those must have items at a discount. Who pays full price for anything anymore? Not this coupon crazy girl from Chicks Down South!
