We all love a mystery and how exciting that God in His wisdom has allowed us to be a part of His great story. The Gospel of Christ is a mystery. How many times have you wondered, “how is it? concerning Christ, the cross, His life, His death, His burial and His resurrection?
It’s a mystery of God.
“And without controversy great is the mystery of Godliness: God was manifest in the flesh justified in the Spirit seen of angels, preached unto the Gentiles, believed on in the world, received up into glory. I Timothy 3:16
At the center of the life of Christ is Calvary. Without his resurrection, we would all be in our sins. Clarence Larkin wrote, “The resurrection is the foundation fact on which Christianity is built.”
” If Christ be not raised, your faith is vain, you are yet in your sins. i Cor. 15: 17.
Even in that…. it is a mystery yet a truth.
Jesus appeared to John on the Isle of Patmos and declared. “I am He that liveth and was dead, and behold I am alive forevermore. Amen: and have the keys of hell and death. Rev. 1:18.
Jesus holds the keys to the depths of hell and at this moment he is seated on the right hand of God the Father. In Romans 8:11 “If the Spirit of Himwho raised up Jeuss from the dead dwell in us,He that raised up Christ from the dead shall quicken our mortal bodies by His Spirit that dwelleth in us”.
Ah, yes, a mystery of God.
So how do we take part?
“If we confess our sins, he is faithful and just and will forgive us our sins and purify us from all unrighteousness.” I John 1:9
