My Photograph With a Founder

‘Proud to have my pic taken with a co-founder of the BlogHer Conference!   When you think about it, a “founder” to a blog or any other organization for that matter, has many qualities that bloggers want. So, to share even the space with a person like this is an honor.

I was able to literally rub elbows with a person who has attitude, bravery, “calm and cool insight, grit stamina and more. Elisa Camphort, an award winning online blogger and a co-founder of BlogHer was at the New York conference this morning and I was so pleased to be able to stand with her in unity of bloggers everywhere as each of us seek to grow and compete in the marketplace. How fun is it that she leads the events and marketing team and heads the public relations and research department for the BlogHer conference and I got to stand right there next to her. In truth, I’d love to walk a mile in her shoes just to experience some of what she’s witnessed in her years in this adventure.

Today, when I had opportunity to have my photograph taken with one of the founders of the BlogHer Conference held in New York City this year, I was more than proud and certainly honored to stand next to Elisa Camahort. I found her to be friendly, warm and willing. She had a clipboard and obviously was busy with the concerns of the day. She was in charge of several thousand participants and she took time with one (me)for a photo. I stood in the warm space of this BlogHer executive and felt a little taller. ( I’m only 5 feet y’all!)

Noticing Camphor’s recent tweet, “”If we didn’t insert ourselves in the narrative, we were going to be erased” -@osope [YUP!]”, I was glad I stepped up and got that photo! If I had not “inserted myself” there would have been no memory like this!

What’s to be learned here? If you have opportunity to be in the presence of someone who’s walked a mile you have not, jump in; insert yourself and go for it.
I’m glad I did and I’m planning on learning from the whole BlogHer event. This is only day #1. I can’t wait to see where the whole conference takes me!
