My cousin has at least twenty-two grands and great grands. I just cannot imagine the joy of that, when I only have one and I almost bust every time we go off and he experiences something for the first time.
Really! The complete pleasure of seeing this “lone” grandchild do something new and react to it is just beyond words, so I just cannot imagine the exhilaration of having more than one, must less twenty two!
I make certain I see him at least every time I can! It matters to me that I look into his face every day and if not every day, every day I can. I want to see him smile, laugh, play, tease, giggle, and try new things. I don’t want to see him cry which I have seen on occasion. Say “NO’ to him and the tears stream, so I do all I can to say “okay!”. ( I know, I have to say no when “mommy and daddy” say I do, but I do my dead level best not to get myself in that situation.) I am a grandma, you know.
I’m thinking though, it’s almost time to have another. I’m hoping for at least half of what my cousin has… That would be 11 grands!
