Does God Hear You When You Pray?

The big question for all of us… “Does God hear my prayers?”

What I have learned through study is that indeed, God hears my prayers if I am a believer but if  He does not know me… No.  I say, “if He does not know me” because of the scripture that says, “Many will come in my name and say “Lord, Lord” and I will say to them, “Depart from me you worker of iniquity, I never knew you”.

When people are faced with devastation they call on God and God’s Word says that He hears their prayer when they commit to His Spirit. Why is this so common and now days why is it excepted? If you can not take the time to speak to God everyday, why call on him in your time of need? This wouldn’t even be fair to do to a friend or family member. A friend might even call it “using them”.

Does God Hear You When You Pray?

In the book of John 9:31,  It says God will not hear your prayers if he does not know you. I hate to be the bearer  of bad news but you need truly know Him.  This is a serious thing for us all to consider.  He does not hear the prayer of an unbeliever except that prayer of true repentance. Saying a prayer in a church service one time or saying a selfish prayer to suit your own needs is not necessarily saying a prayer.   On the other hand, if you  truly felt the Lord Jesus Christ take over your thoughts, heart mind and soul and if you excepted Christ and repented of your sins, God hears your prayers. Too, you will know you know Him and  others will know and see the difference in you.

I am a born again Christian. I have accepted Christ. I too have a lot of questions and am still searching for many answers but in the mean time, I’ve surrendered my heart to Him. I am being touched by Him toward giving to others and living selfless. This is my desire.  I fall short but I am working on this in my personal life.

I am worried for this world and the future of my son as he grows in this unjust, ungodly universe.

My challenge for you today. Download the Bible app and commit to listening to it everyday. Set a time that can always be your time to hear God’s word.  Maybe it’s while you are doing your makeup or riding in the car.  Maybe you would prefer to read the Bible or do both. Whatever will work for you to grow spiritually by reading and hearing God’s Word,  find it.

Let’s take this challenge together. God loves us and wants the best for us.  I’ll keep you posted on my progress. Keep me posted on yours by sharing on Chicks Down South Facebook or Twitter page.

Keep the Faith-
