Are You Going To Heaven When You Die?

If you were accused of being a Christian, would there be enough evidence to convict you? The Bible speaks clearly. I John 2:3-4 He that saith, I know him, and keepeth not his commandments, is a liar, and the truth is not in him. He also speaks of our only way into heaven. Matthew 7:21 Not every one that saith unto me, Lord, Lord, shall enter into the kingdom of heaven; but he that doeth the will of my Father, which is in heaven.

My grandfather has been ill for quite some time. With Hospice being brought in,  this has lead me to think of death. The thought of losing someone we love is terrible but thinking of his eternity is most important. Although I am most certain Jesus knows him and he’s affirmed his trust in Christ,  it raises the question for each of us so I pose it to you.  ” Do you know where you will go when you die?” Are you saved? The term “saved” is turning away from a life without God, repenting and receiving Jesus Christ as your Savior which will give you eternal life. Wouldn’t you like to know that when you die you would go to heaven?

Being a good person, doing good deeds, religious ceremony, being baptized, going to church or even being a member of a church will not get you into heaven. You must believe in Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior and received him in your heart. I believe many misguided souls have false hope of eternity in heaven. Saying that you’re a Christian doesn’t make it true.  Being a Christian is a way of life.  Just saying the words, “I’m a Christian”  will not get you into the pearly gates. We are to worship God according to His Word and not our own beliefs. Jesus explains that if a person rejects Him and will not believe, he will spend eternity in hell separated from God.

Just reciting the sinners prayer and living your own life is not it. Yes, something magical will happen in your life after believing and accepting Jesus but just like any other thing, after you believe, you must commit to follow Him in worship and in truth.

Just like you love your football team, you wear the logo, keep up with the stats, recruiting others to join your team, and research regularly. Being a follower of Jesus in the same thing. How do you expect to talk to others about him if you are not up to date yourself?

Last Christmas, I sat among family and shared the gospel. Yes, I was unsure how to approach the conversation without offending anyone. After many prayer for guidance, I realized what I had to share was good news. The Lord has placed me on this earth to share with others His Word, the Holy Bible and I did.   It is my job to lead people to heaven through Jesus Christ.

Where you will spend eternity should be the most important thing in your life. Settle this question today. You may ask  CDS with any questions and we will be happy to explain more.
