You’ll have to excuse me for using this phrase in yet another of my blogs but it’s such a good one, I had to!
Television personality, Leeza Gibbons was on Celebrity Apprentice this week and another person was chiding her. Rather than get annoyed, she said that her mother would tell her to “Just stay in your own lane, Honey”. When I heard that I just cackled! Now that is good stuff! In other words, Gibbon’s mother was telling her to stay focused and keep your eye on the finish line. Don’t get distracted with someone else’s folly! LOVE IT and isn’t that the truth.
At every turn, we are doing this and that and working diligently to make a difference and then something happens and we feel discouraged or that someone is drawing us away from our original purpose or focus. If that happens, we must not despair! We need to simply “Stay in our own lane, honey” and focus on the job at hand.
What are you trying to do in your life? Is someone trying to get you off course? Are you being chided? Do you feel that the purpose for which you began your endeavor is being threatened? If so, then, “Stay in your own lane, honey” and do the job you were meant to do!
