The past few weeks have been a roller coaster for my family. A lot of pain and suffering has been felt. The loss of a family member brings about great change and just daily life itself takes a toll.  Many changes have been made and every day operations are very different. In our times of sadness, I am reminded how lucky I am to be alive. This can only mean that God still has a plan for me; a destiny and purpose for my life. He is not done with me yet, and therefore I must get out there to “sparkle and shine” for Jesus.

Many of you have struggles, feelings of failure, guilt or grief. Know that God has gone before you. If you listen and obey him now He will open those doors to your happiness without your trying to force them to open. We must be leaders for him everyday because each moment counts. We only have one shot at this world, with 365 day a year to fulfill the purpose He has for our lives.   Even during the tough times, He is with us and if a door closes, He can be certain to open a window.

Everyday we are at war! The old hymn comes to mind, “Onward Christian Soldiers Marching Out To War. With the Cross of Jesus Going on Before”.  We are his soldiers and He goes before us.  Yes,  it is a spiritual battle against mighty powers in this dark world. When faced with sorrow, pain or confusion we must remember the devil response to force. We must bring God in and usher the enemy out. We are to set goals, write them down in an effort to focus and keep them. And yes, focus on being a Jesus freak, for nothing else matters. Our faithfulness and commitment will carry us through the storms and challenges. Do not let the storms cause you to question your faith but only strengthen your walk with Him.

Let us start our walk everyday strong and end with a powerful finish. No matter what you have done in your past, it will not stop God from loving and using you for His good.

For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord. Romans 8: 38

We serve a forgiving and loving God. Stop here and now and think about your future and the future of those around you and I’ll do the same. And, hey, live for Jesus yawl!
