Hooray! It’s the weekend and DanielBoy is home from work. He asked last night “What are we doing tomorrow?” I had not even thought about our weekend plans. One thing I did not want to do would be to “lounge” all day. How boring! So, I replied, “Enjoying the crisp beautiful outdoors of course.”

Weekend Plans?

I truly had no clue what was going on in my own hometown so I began scrambling for ideas. Using an iPhone app, I called up the “KidsDirectory”. ” Look-E-There”, a Christmas spectacular event was scheduled for tomorrow at our own outdoor mall. ( a month before Thanksgiving. Wow!) My mommie mode took over and I thought of what everyone would wear and off I went to mix and match outfits so that we would all coordinate in appearance. ( We are matching folks. In other words, each time we go off, we all coordinate in a color -specific way with our clothing. It is what it is, as they say! Mommy Match Off-(A Story for a different day!) )

What are your plan this weekend? As we grow as a couple and family, I’m realizing more and more the importance of setting aside time to have fun and take advantage of local events. Getting dressed up, grabbing the camera and capturing important and precious moments make the spice of life flavorful. I always grab a few photo props for the day; a stuffed animal, wreath, candy cane, mistletoe or some other object that might bring significance to this day down the road. My prop for this day would be reindeer antlers purchased for a dollar at the Target special sale area in the front of the store. Too, I set aside my tripod so I could be in full control of the shot and last but not least, I knew the phone with camera would be there for that important “selfie” which would mark the occasion for FB or some other social media site.

Truly, the planning of an event can be just as important as the event itself. Most importantly, the very best place to be is with you and yours.
