The SnapChat Queen: This Girl’s Not Camera Shy

Social media has taken over and the older I get the more confused I become. I remember giggling at my mom trying to use the latest gadgets. Kristie and I would laugh at her lack of knowledge on the “in” products. Well, who knew this was going to happen to me!  Having to admit that I’ve been running things from behind  for some time now is not easy.(And I made fun of my Mom for trying to stay up with times! Ha!)

Kristie is 4 years younger than me and no, we will not talk age! LOL! In the last few years she has been showing me things that in my book were just not user friendly. The truth be told, she was showing me the hot ticket ticket items on the world wide web. Maybe you too have found yourself behind times once or twice but does that mean we are getting old? I think the correct phrase would be “well seasoned!”

A little over a month ago we were in the Florida Keys where I was able to spend a week with my sister and friends. In that seven days, I noticed them using an app on their phone called “SnapChat”.  KristieMiss had told me about this app before but the importance of it was of no interest to me at the time and it was learning a new “gadget”. ‘Not interested!

Watching them use the app smiling and laughing was fun and it prompted me to, as you’ve probably guessed,  to download it for myself. That was some two months ago and I can’t tell you the fun that it has been!   Snap Chat is an app that allows a user to take 8 second videos.  They can be mailed to friends or kept in your own “story” folder.  It’s really an eventful application and free for the taking.

It is amazing the fun that can happen each day in our lives using some small item like this.   Having Snap has highlighted so many silly moments and allowed my friends and me to go back to it and laugh remembering good time while building a future together. Keeping up with friends and loved ones  is tough enough with such busy schedules but this silly fun application can let them know you are thinking of them or even update them on what you are doing throughout  your day.
