This may be “TMI” ( too much information) but I just wanted to air the laundry. Things are so busy, that I am not smelling the roses. What about you? Are you crazy busy? It seems that this time of year, lends itself to being so busy, I can hardly think and with an added health issue for my elderly dad, time is a commodity.
My life right now consists of daily visits to a rehabilitation center to take care of my aging father(94), spending the night with my mom(88), wildly traveling the opposite direction to see my only grand child(14 mo.), running a plunder store(The Rooster Barn: “A lot of good stufff!”- 3 days a week), attending my church (that I love), having a bathroom in my home redone and feeding and loving my animals which include, but are not limited to: chickens, dogs , birds and a cat! Somewhere in all of that wild activity, I have gone Christmas shopping and kept up my blogging and gained a pound or two.(Oh, for crying out loud!) Wild and Crazy!
The Scripture speaks of seasons in our lives and I can see that my parents are in the winter of their lives.
There is an appointed time for everything. And there is a time for every event under heaven—
A time to give birth and a time to die;
A time to plant and a time to uproot what is planted.
Ecclesiastes
Our parents are needing tending, help and nurturing to keep them alive and well. Our family is doing this for them. In doing all of the other activities of our lives, we are a “all hands on deck” bunch and doing what we can to care for them. It is what is needed. It is what is required. It is what we’re doing. As they move through the winter of their lives, we’re taking the trip with them. Crazy wild and busy times though!
