Whoosh!  That pretty much summarizes our Keys vacation. The anticipation leading up to the trip is always at an all time high. Leading up to our departure day we begin a countdown and the days seem to creep by. Finally, it is time to start the 7 day 6 night vacay and honestly, from that moment on, time speeds up. I know you have felt this on several of your vacations, haven’t you?

There are so many things to highlight in the Florida Keys but one of our very favorites is the Islamorada Sandbar. The sandbar is full of people and events and we don’t ever miss the opportunity to go there!

We also enjoy to fish in that crystal clear water. KristieMiss, does not like to be boatlocked so to speak, but, I can normally talk her into a few hours offshore. We stay in Marathon Key and enjoy fishing the 7 Mile Bridge in hopes of catching a large grouper (it has happened before!)

Fishing with my sister is always short lived. Getting her offshore in Jacksonville will not happen but in the Keys, hitting 500 feet of water is just a fifteen minute boat ride. On this last Keys trip, I finally talked her into hitting the water with me on the very last day. The bad news!  We did’t catch one fish, but we did catch some rays,  silly pictures and videos. Returning home, I have watched the fun videos several times and just smiled. Although life moves so quickly and things change, these silly special fun times will forever be there. One thing that will always remain- is that I love my sister!

As I look over the videos and pictures, I am reminded of how special each day was then and is now. We only received one day just like this one and each of us controls the outcome. I know we all have many things to manage in our day-to-day lives; jobs, relationships, family, self-control, health, and more, but making a happy life is something we can all do. The truth is, its all about looking at things with a positive outlook. Do not let others get in the way of your happiness. Do not let that critical voice in your head take over your positive spirit. Live happy and enjoy every single moment with the ones you care and love.

We’re already planning on next year’s trip!
