We were more than happy when our “Blogging Party of 2” turned into a party of 9 today in N. E. Florida today. Our gathering was set to establish a “one year” blog for anyone willing to commit. We hope all will participate. We will be setting up a link for those who wish to commit to blog each day or a set number of blogs a week for one year. The information on our link will be provided to help each person join in this venture. More on that by Wednesday morning so return here to see the results of things to come.
Meanwhile, if you know you’re going to blog for a year, do the following:
Be thinking about your blog focus.. What will you write about? Be double dog sure that you write what’s in your heart or you won’t make it a month. To be successful in blogging, you must write about what you’re passionate about so be thinking. Of course, you can have a site about “family” or “home” or “sports” which can break into smaller categories so consider how you wish to go forward.
Consider a short name for your blog and the best will be a .com, not a .net or .org or.me, etc. Short is very important and think of a name that people can spell easily. You domain name will be of great importance going forward so give it much thought. (A domain name is the URL name . For example… www.chicksdownsouth.com).
Get a journal for keeping up with your events, passwords and the like. This journal will be very important as time moves along. Keep it with your computer area and blogging space. Put dates on every entry and be sure to write down URLs , user names and passwords. Spiral notebooks are best as they fold easily and take up less space.
Okay… that’s a start and check back for information on getting your site up and running. We’ll post that by Wednesday morning.
