“Have a holly jolly Christmas….” Now doesn’t that just make you want to sing?
I truly enjoy this time of year. Don’t you fee like everyone is cheerful? Well, most everyone except the Grinch or that lady who knocked you over for that black Friday deal last week. Other than those few cases, it is such a wonderful time of year. Houses are decorated with Christmas lights, beautiful music is playing in the department stores and even acquaintances give gifts. The excitement of seeing our families soon builds day by day and looking forward to all of the great food you are going to eat brings about a flurry of thought! Why not add a few crafts to the celebration?
Homemade globes is one craft that we will participate in as a family this year. These will allow us to create our own wonderland.
Here are a few items you will need
1. Jar (any size will do (baby-food, pickle, olive jar)
2. Figurines (Look for plastic one that stand tall – depending on far size)
3. Distilled water
4. Glycerin
5. Glitter
6. Sand paper
7. Epoxy (glue)
This is so much fun to do with the kiddos and super easy.
1. Fill jar almost to top with water (you can always add more)
2. Add a pinch or two of glitter and a dash of glycerin so the glitter does not stick (if you add to much it will stick to top when flipped)
3. Sand inside of lid until ruff
4. Use epoxy to glue figurine to lip (wait until completely dry before moving)
5. Place figurine in water
6. Screw on lip tightly
7. Slowly turn globe over
Have fun with this and be sure to shop at your local craft stores with coupons. Remember you can use a mobile coupon from the stores website and one from the stores all all in the same transaction.
