Our eighteen month old grandson’s crib is located in his mother’s former room. Now vacant, the ironing board has been set up in there and this morning when I walked in to iron a blouse, I saw his bed bringing to mind that precious person who has changed our lives forever.
I walked straight to it and grabbed the side of it’s railing. Holding the top rung of the Graco bed, I called out his little name to The Father. Aloud and alone in that room, I asked God, who neither slumbers nor sleeps, to bless his life, give him wisdom and place favor on him to do God’s work and will throughout his life. Oh, and I did not stop there. Oh, no. I asked far more than that on his behalf!
And then, from calling out his name aloud to God, I moved on to this father, Daniel, his mother Katie, his aunt, Kristie and Stephanie, Uncles Carl and David, his grandfathers, Ronnie and Dave, his other grandmother, Kari and the list went on including the great grandparents. What glorious moments were mine as I could call out in confidence their names to the Father knowing that God would respond.
The scripture for Jeremiah was “For I know the plans I have for you,” declares the LORD, “plans to prosper you and not to harm you, plans to give you hope and a future. “Jeremiah 29:11.
Tears of Joy.
