Grandma’s rule is simply to use duct tape and why not?
There was just no reason to get ourselves into a twit. The diapers in the cabinet were just too small so there was nothing else to do but to cut a bed pad into the shape of a diaper and use duct tape. Lucky for design purposes I had red and so problem solved and it was certainly colorful. My precious grand boy did not care and I don’t even think he noticed although it probably felt a little different than “Huggies”, his trademark brand.
After I put on the newly designed diaper, we had a marvelous time. He rode in his little car. We fed the chickens. Our hunt for each other in hide and seek was not hindered by the new-styled diaper and we watched Clifford the Red Dog on TV.
Many times in life, things happen: We don’t have enough money to pay for our checkout items, we forgot our debit or credit card, the trip to the store was to buy one item and we bought 25 but came home without the item we went for. That’s just life and there is simply no reason to get all twisted about things.
I’m one to talk! I get easily frustrated and in a recent conversation with my oldest daughter, I explained that I have been working fast and furious on my short fuse. Here are the tips I recommend:
1. Stay with the quote: “Don’t sweat the small stuff”.
2. Try to figure out another way to solve the problem.
3. Write down the solution on a memo slip and put it with your keys as a reminder.
4. Think of at least 2 positives that could come out of the 1 negative situation.
5. “In every thing give thanks: for this is the will of God in Christ Jesus concerning you.1 Thess 5:18
