From the early years of our lives, our self esteem is built by those around us. Parents, teachers, friends, acquaintances and more help shape our confidence and how we feel about ourselves. Personal acceptance is often skewed or enhanced by things that people say or do to us or even how people react in our presence.
With all of that said, God in His wisdom has a plan for each of us regardless of feelings that we have based on feedback from others. He has our best future at heart. The most important thing to God though is our relationship to Him. He loved us first and wants our love for him to be true and honest. He wants us to depend on Him and call on His Holy name in respect and in honor.
So how do we do this? The Holy Scripture is clear that we are to depend on God through the “renewing of our mind”.
” And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what [is] that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.”
In other words, we are to read God’s Word, the Bible and allow His words to change our way of thinking. His Word will make our hearts tender to His desires and we will find ourselves in awe of His greatness and of his love for us and then will we do His will and not our own.
“But to as many as received Him, to them gave he the power to become children of God (John 1:12).
We have power in Christ. We can be all that God has for us with His transforming work in our lives. And, what we learn is that as we serve Him, those around us confirm our worth as we go about doing good. In short, God has a plan for each of us…
Live for Jesus Ya’ll!
