Eating is an event that occurs at least 3 times a day. All mothers know the routine and if you’re like me, you’ve wrestled with the food droppings under the baby seat, when you go out to eat and beneath the table.
One thing, we’re pretty strict about, even as our little one is at a young age is the “no playing with the food” thing but even still, droppings and drinks fall “accidentally” in his seat, on the floor, below his highchair and under the table.
Well, believe it or not there is a product out there to meet this need. I could not stand the mess everywhere after each meal so I began an online search and found ” Splat Mats.” What a fabulous idea! If I just had a child earlier maybe I could have created this and been a millionaire because this is a million dollar idea!
I was at a point contemplating using a shower curtain or trash bag but these well constructed mats became the perfect item. They come in different patterns to go with various decor.
I ordered the Splat Mat, thought about my server days and the dreaded “kids eat free nights”. I always felt the parents didn’t even care their lovely children where making a huge mess for me to clean. They would leave the mess on the floor and walk away as if they did’t see it. Now, if you have never been a server then you have no idea this feeling. There are a few jobs in this world I believe everyone should have to do and waiting tables in one of them. This being said, I bought two Splat Mats. One to keep at home and the other for on-the-go easy clean up. No, we won’t be leaving the waitress a mess!
