Today, my Sunday School class visited s”The Chick Wives of Duval County” and we had “Chicken Day”. It was a fun time with the chickens showing off, especially Buster. As you may know if you follow this blog, Buster is the Buff Orpington rooster with “character”. He would flog anyone who gets in his way or anyone who even remotely thinks he or she is going to get close to “Big B”.
The first thing he does is run towards anyone standing at or near his gate. Then he makes girgling noises with his mouth and sort of dances along the fence area as he twitches his tail. He’s quite the bird in charge. With strength, he flaps his wing. He’s a booger!
Their stay was filled with chicken watching, hunting in the nesting boxes to see if maybe a laying hen gave an egg, (No such luck tho!) and a short sharing time together where we read from God’s Word, the Bible.
It was quite a day with the girls… The ladies of our church girls and the girls meaning chickens!
