So you’ve planned a getaway but what about your pets? You not only want your property to be looked after, but what about your furry friends. In your absence you want the best option possible and someone reliable. Asking friends or family can be hard and sometimes frustrating but hiring an outside agency can get pricy.

Saying all that… I’d like you to meet KatieGirl the ultimate mini-farm free agent. Saturday, I was nominated to watch-after the home-place and be a farm-chick for 5 days. Keeping up the farm was no task as a child, but once you get away from the farm life, you forget what a task this is. Just checkout my checklist left by the homeowner (aka my mom).

When taking this picture I could not resist placing the two eggs I gathered from today’s find.

Note to the wise: Leaving a note like this will makes any house-sitter smile. The fun hand drawn note is filled with exact details regarding the home-owners pet’s wishes. There is no way to miss a detail. These animals will be the best kept animals alive based on instructions!

I think it is important to point out, I was not only left a detailed note for the farm owner,  but the humans were also left with goodies. Precious-Boy even had his own note with a little treat. I must say, this home-owner knows how to leave the details.

Honestly, growing up with these types of letters it was not surprising but always super fun to see what Mom would come up with next. Can you imagine if this was your first note from Josie though? You would definitely take pictures and post this on a social media site. lol!

The next time you go out of town and leave behind your owners manual,  try to add a little spunk. If you can’t draw us stamps or stickers or cut and paste from the funny papers.  Make sure to leave a few treats for your guest too.  They will appreciate the thoughtful handwritten letter and the goodies.  They might even do a few extra things around the house.
