We kicked off Sister Day with a bit of outside play time. As you know KristieMiss and I are always on the hunt for new places to explore with our snickerdoodle (Ramey, my toddler). Today, our adventures landed us east, just mile from Jacksonville, Florida’s beach at Sunshine Park.

Sunshine Park

As a first time visitor I am here to tell you it’s our favorite FREE park in the Duval County area as of now.  We absolutely fell in love today with Sunshine Park. It’s a great place for all ages but geared more for the 10 and under crowd.

The main part of the park is a terrific wooden playground.

Tire swing that was a huge hit with this little one

There is even a special area for tots

The tot area even has an awesome sand pit and tick tack toe game.

In the summer they have a small splash pad which is convenient to use to cool down during the hot summer days. (Great for a day like today~)

There are bathrooms, covered picnic tables, and grills also available. If you bring your bikes or running shoes, there is small paved loop that goes around a grass field that you can utilize. There is also a few volleyball courts. Inside the kids area there is a “no dogs allowed” sign. (We didn’t bring Kylee, so all good!)

If you come to this park of one like it, make sure to pack a lunch and come for the day. It’s an awesome way to entertain the kids and without shelling out tons of money. How does “free” sound?  Maybe we will see you there.
