Bring Glory To God

As I wake everyday I often wonder “What is my purpose on earth today?” Immediately, I turn to God’s manual for me, the Bible; His daily love letter.

As a young person growing up,  I felt like it was a rule book with stick standards. Somehow, I had the notion that it was more do this and if you don’t…. but I have come to realize it is God’s way of communicating with me. It helps me understand my purpose on earth each and everyday. God tells us who we are, how important we are, how much He loves us, how to transform for our good, if we will just listen.

We are loved beyond measures (John 17:23)

I am created to bring glory to God (2 Cor. 3:17-18;)

I am equipped for battle (Eph. 6:10-17)

I am called (Jer. 1:5)

It is easy to forget our purpose on a daily base with such a busy life. One way to create a daily reminder of our task before us is to create a “vision board”. Take your most important daily things and post them on the board. It might be your children, dream job, sick family member, pictures of vacation spots or even a Bible verse you want to learn. Place the vision board where you will see it several time a day. Use the board to post your dreams, hopes and plans.  As you read the Bible,  your visions will change. At that point, change your board often with your fresh thoughts, dreams and expectations.

While looking for your goals and purpose remember they may not always be convenient or easy. The truth of the matter is that nothing in life worth fighting for if is handed to you. We each have to work hard to achieve greatness. Overcoming the obstacles are what makes the challenging moments worth while.

In fact you will realize how very strong you truly are as a person in Christ during these time. It will amaze you to see all God has in store for you and to see the things you can overcome. As you look back you will see His hand was upon your life.

Let’s face reality. We each have a unique purpose and personality therefore our opportunities are limitless. God has great things in store for us, if we just listen. God does not need you to push your way though life. He wants to make your path smooth and easy. We just have to be ready, not distracted with worldliness. Let your focus be on Him and He will guide your every move and show you your purpose. He will fill that void of your meaningless things with His purposes of pleasure.

Let’s start today making everyday filled with great purpose and goals.
