What If You’re More Important Than You Think?

Having a friend who literally impacted thousands and thousands of people, I “get it” that we can have far more influence than we ourselves think.

Guinell Freeman was the Educational Director for one of the largest churches in America at the time, The First Baptist Church of Jacksonville. She served in that capacity for over 40 years and was a part of a team who impacted literally thousands and thousands of souls. In the glory days of the church, the membership was some 20,000 and counting and she was at the forefront making the kinds of decisions that would bring about real change in the lives of men, women and children. At the annual Pastors’ Conference, literally dozens of men would be standing at her feet listening to tips for growing the Sunday School; her specialty. When asked to write a book about her great knowledge, she said, “What do I know?” It was then that I realized that often people who are impacting don’t even realize their relevance. Such was true of this powerhouse of faith and all the while, she was impacting lives such that eternity would tell.

Who are you? What are your strengths? Gifts? Talents? Abilities? Experiences? Where is your circle of influence? How do you access it? When do you shine most? Best?

There is a plan for greatest in you and with you where you are. Don’t miss out on making the difference you were called to make.   Most importantly, it is nothing that we do. It is all that God does in us.  It is He who makes wealthy. It is He who gives life. It is He who goes before us.  We must ask Him for the way and then go the path He has provided.
