The last human footprints on the lunar surface were left by Gene Cernan in December of 1972. His shoes from the A7-LB spacesuit helped him on his trip to the moon where he and Harrison Schmitt collected samples of rock and soil. These were important and impressive times of discovery for the United States who now has a small space program in comparison to those days.

But “back in the day”, it was Cernan who was at one time one of the most experienced space walkers in the space program so his shoes took him a long way in terms of making an impact in space travel and discovery.
Each of us have an opportunity for our shoes to carry us to great and mighty places. We each have opportunity to make a difference in the field in which we are called. In my own world, I think of the steps I’ve taken over the years as a public school teacher and educator. I think of the purposeful foot holds made with the hundreds and hundreds of students in which I taught and cared about.
What about you? In which field of service are you? Walk the walk and talk the talk and certainly, make a difference and impact because someone is depending on you.
