#write31days project- Day 24

There is nothing that you can do about your appearance. Your appearance from stature to eye shape, head to toe was given to you by God. You were created to look a certain way and while a person can add to height by wearing thicker heels or put color on his or her hair, a person’s look is a person’s look. You can cut your hair extremely short or you can add or lose weight to change your body structure. You can use fake eye color contacts and pad your body for a more full appearance but in the quiet of your bedroom, when no one else is around and it’s just you and a mirror. You are who God made you. Ultimately, God created you with certain physical attributes for His will and a purpose known to Him.  Your job is to find out exactly how you’re to use those attributes.

Robert Pershing Wadlow weighed 31 lbs when he was born on February 22, 1918. When last he was measured, he was found to be 8ft 11 inches tall. The Guiness World Records website notes him as the “Tallest man in medical history for whom there is irrefutable evidence.” His shoe length was 18.5 inches and his hands measured almost 13 inches from wrist to the tip of his middle finger. Wadlow ate some 8,000 calories on most days. He was buried in a coffin measuring 8 ft.11 inches. at Oakwood Cemetery in Alton, Illinois.

In 2014, the world’s tallest man at the time, Sultan Kosen at 8 feet 3 inches, met the shortest adult ever verified by Guiness World Records, Chandra Bahadur Dangi measuring 21 1/2 inches tall. Dangi passed away September 18, 2015 after having lived for 75 years. It was said of him that he “touched the world with his strength and spirit.”

Good Housekeeping author Sam Escobar wrote an article about famous people with different eye color. One highlighted was the television star of Dr. Quinn Medicine Woman, Jane Seymour. One of her eyes is green while the other is brown. Another highlighted was the Washington Nationals’ pitcher, Max Scherzer who’s right eye is blue and left eye is brown. People who have heterochromia are born with 2 different eye colors.

Different people have different body shapes. The fashion industry categorizes women shapes such as: apple or inverted triangle, rectangular, spoon, and hourglass. From waist and hip measurement to shoulder and chest measurement, these shapes influence the fashion industry where billions of dollars are exchanged yearly.

There are many people who have different and various eye shapes. From “Asian eyes” where the skin folds over the upper eyelid covering the angle of the eye.

Various ancestry, and geographical reasons might be associated with the different eye shapes. Beautylish.com  lists the following eye shapes: deep set eyes, hooded, protruding, upturned downturned close set, and wide set.

In the Bible, the story is told of the young King David being “ruddy”, having “beautiful eyes” and was “handsome”. It is God who created man and He has chosen to create man as He see fit for each person. To reject one’s self would be to reject God’s creation. And, to reject others based on their appearance would also be to reject God’s purposes for that individual.

As you go from place to place in the world in which you live, love yourself. Do the best with the appearance God has given you and be thankful he’s chosen you to be you. There is no on else like you.
