Bribing The Passengers

We’ve flown with our baby  on several occasions because part of our family lives in Texas and we love being with them. Flying with a baby is not easy so we really think about it and go prepared. We know the importance of bringing all things needed on the flight to make him happy.  Since he was only a couple of months old, we have made this flight and carried with us the necessary things  to cause him to be enjoyable and content on theplane and it’s all worked out well until this go. And, OH MY, what a time we had!  I’m sorry passengers!

Bribing The Passengers

Our young son is 14 months old. On this airplane ride, we brought, a bottle with extra milk, his “blanky”(blanket), his “Lovie”(special stuffed one), the ipad loaded with new videos(thanks Dad!), a sippy cup, toys, fresh diapers, clean clothes, socks, shoes, and the list goes on but I’ll not bore you!

From the moment he boarded the cabin, he acted as if he was in a cabin… a cabin in the woods and ready to vacation!  Oh! dear!  We did everything except stand on our heads to entertain and even as he was trying to hand off  his passifire around to neighboring passengers, we were scrambling to redirect his thoughts into ones that would bring about longstanding memory focus!  ‘Didn’t work!  ‘Didn’t work!

So here is a gift to all passengers- a bag of treats and a note that reads the following:

“Thank you for your patience with our 14 mo. old on the flight tonight.  We’re so sorry for any inconvenience re: noise, smells, movement, etc.  Sweet dreams when you get home- Again, thank you for your sweet patience! ” D, K and R”.
